ELIGIBILITY

  • Minimum 2 years experience in the welding department with a welding inspector Level -2 certification in hand.
  • CSWIP Level -2 certified individual with 5 years of experience in the welding industry.

OVERVIEW

The senior welding inspector Level-3 programme will include modules on primary responsibilities and duties of a welding professional. It covers topics on QA/QC, heat treatments, non-destructive/destructive testing, welding procedures, joint design, residual and dissimilar distortion and stress welding, heat input, HSLA and quenched tempered steels, arc energy, and specifications.
Additionally, individuals will learn crucial aspects of weldability, weld repairs, weld fractures, weld symbols, and consumables, identifying defects of welding, NDT reports interpretation, weld symbol interpretation, welding documentation process, procedures on certifications and approvals, basic supervision principles, case studies on welding. An early attempt to educate oneself about the 16 modules would simplify the learning process and examination. It’s ideal for students to brush up on what they have learned in their previous level of the welding programme. The handbooks can be referred to as: -AWS Welding Handbook Volume-I and II, -Jeffus Welding Principles and Applications, -AC Davies The Science and Practice of Welding & The Practice of Welding.
